Community and technical college Board to consider executive director’s contract and new technology plan
OLYMPIA, Wash. – The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will hold a special meeting via telephone conference on Friday, August 1, at 9:00 a.m. to consider the approval of Executive Director Charlie Earl’s employment contract and to adopt the SBCTC’s Strategic Technology Plan.
“The overall goal of the Technology Plan is to increase student success,” said Executive Director Charlie Earl. “Students and faculty have told us what they need to help students thrive in the 21st century and this plan delivers those needs.”
The plan is the culmination of an 18-month analysis conducted by the Technology Transformation Task Force of SBCTC. Strategies identified in the plan include a single, system-wide suite of online teaching and learning tools for all 34 2-year colleges, a seamless P-20 system for personalized online student services, and a data-driven approach to improving both student success and administrative efficiency.
Space will be available for the public session at the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, Olympus Room, 403, 1300 Quince Street SE, Olympia.
